Faith and Hope School - How did it all begin?

The school was set up in 2003 by a Zambian lady, Rosemary Mumbi, who continues to lead the school and, with her strong Christian faith and lots of hard work, has overseen its growth from 2 to 780 pupils.

The Zambian government only provides school places for a small percentage of all children and the school was established to provide an education for some of the many chaldren who live in the township of Ngombe, outside Lusaka, who would otherwise have no school place.

Most of these children live in poverty and many have lost one or both parents to Aids. The midday meal provided by the school for each child is therefore an important aspect of the support they provide for the children.
